Integrating QSEN Competencies into a New Curriculum

Communication, Nursing Interventions, Professionalism and Critical Judgment are the core characteristics of the new curriculum.  Building on the strong relationship with practice partner St. John's Hospital, this project aims to establish and sustain trusting relationships and rapport with patients and their families through the introduction of the First Touch Program(c).  

The team also hopes to enhance professional communication through the inclusion of SBAR communication techniques.  Faculty development to support innovation in teaching and learning will be provided through the NLN Immersion in Evidence Based Nursing Education series.  Emphasis will be placed on expanding the use of technology in classroom, clinical and simulation experiences for students.
